Build the creative business you love

Curriculum, coaching, and community to help creatives build businesses they love, from solo freelance practices to growing a full creative studio.

Here’s the truth

Most creatives aren’t struggling because they lack talent.

They struggle because they learn business the hard way.

Finding the right clients
Pricing your work
Handling difficult clients
Getting good feedback (on time)
Building a portfolio you love
Profiting from every project
Managing cash flow
Deciding when to scale
Preventing creative burnout

There’s a better way to learn the business of creative work.

Left my full-time job to grow my business.

Since joining, I've been able to leave my full time job to concentrate on growing my business. This wouldn't have been possible without joining the program.

Tony Kimble
Videographer & Filmmaker
One old friend became $5K in referrals.

I had been sharing my services on Facebook and LinkedIn. A good friend I hadn't spoken to in a few years reached out and hired me to help him build a website for one of his own clients. After the project, he referred me to a friend of his who was also starting his own agency. The friend hired me to help him with advertising with one of his clients as well, which turned into about $500/mo in recurring revenue. $500/mo for 10 months, so $5,000

William Boggs
Web Designer
Landed my first client: €1,500 plus €95 a month.

I got my first client, who signed for a web design service and that wouldn´t have been possible without Maker Division.

The Shift

Everything changes when the business finally clicks.

When creatives understand how the business of creative work actually works, everything improves. Revenue, stress... even your body of work.

01
Confidence in your craft and your decisions

Most creatives spend years second guessing themselves. When you understand the business, the uncertainty fades.

02
Better clients who you love to work with

When you position your work clearly, you start to attract clients who honestly respect the craft.

03
A body of work that you are (actually) proud of

When the right clients find you, the work changes too. You spend more time creating and less time “pushing pixels.”

04
Finally... Predictable income you can rely on

Artists don’t have to starve. Get the tools and support you need to create consistent, predictable income.

Learned my value and stopped short-changing myself.

My confidence and understanding of financial planning, client outreach, and building client relationships have all made massive improvements. I'm learning my value and working on not short changing myself.

Suzanna Bunch
Graphic Designer
A referral and two repeat clients in one week.

Last week, one of my clients referred me to a friend, and two other clients entrusted me with new projects. I'm now juggling multiple projects.

Closed a $90K+ annual contract, my biggest job yet.

I recently solidified a $90k+ annual contract with a client for web services... the biggest job I've closed to date.

Side-hustlers going full-time

The side projects are growing… but the leap still feels risky. You know the opportunity is there, but turning freelance work into a real business requires structure and a plan.

Experienced creatives who are starting a new business

You’ve mastered the craft… but the business side still feels unclear. You want more than a string of projects. You want the systems for a creative business that can actually grow.

FAQ

How much time does this take?

As much as you give it. The coursework is self-paced. Most members do one call a week and a few hours between.

I've bought courses before and never finished them.

Same. That's why there are checkpoints where we review your actual work, and a room of people who notice when you go quiet.

Do I need to have clients already?

No. Plenty of members join before their first one and use the first phase to get there.

Is this for beginners or experienced creatives?

Both. Members range from side-hustlers to studio owners doing six figures. The turning point matters more than the years.

Do I have to show up live?

You don’t have to, but that’s where the help happens. Calls aren’t recorded, on purpose, so people feel safe asking for help. The community is there between calls.

Why not just watch your free content?

You can, and we make a lot of it. Free content gives you ideas. This gives you feedback on your specific work, from people who will tell you the truth about it.

What if it's not for me?

Thirty days, full refund, no conversation required. Cancel anytime after that.
