Design Your Lookbook
Build a lookbook in a day.
A recorded workshop and a ready-made Adobe Express template for the simplest way to showcase your work, pitch opportunities, and have something polished ready when someone asks to see what you do.
The website is a huge hangup. We've watched it stall some seriously talented people.
It starts reasonably enough: "I'm gonna have a website, and I'm gonna put my work on it." But then it needs an about page. And a few inbound funnels. And the Instagram has to be up to date, and the LinkedIn... and if any of it isn't current, it trickles into everything. Six months later there's still nothing to send.
Meanwhile, some of the best client conversations we've ever had happened with a physical lookbook on the table, or a deck up on a screen, walking someone through the work.
For illustrators, photographers, and lettering artists especially, a lookbook can get you so far. And if we're not being perfectionists about it, you can build one in a day.
What's inside
- What a lookbook is, and when it beats a capabilities deck
- How to choose work that argues for the projects you want next
- Sequencing, pacing, and how much to say (less than you think)
- A ready-made Adobe Express template so you're not starting from a blank page
In the Maker Division curriculum this is a fork in the road: some members need a capabilities deck, some need a lookbook, and picking wrong costs weeks. This workshop is the lookbook path, opened up for free.
